TRANSFER of Corpus Technologies in Professional Field: THEORY – METHODOLOGY – PRACTICE.

The LECTURE for IEU students took place on November 16, 2022.

Topic: TRANSFER of Corpus Technologies in Professional Field: THEORY – METHODOLOGY – PRACTICE.

The speaker, Yan Kapranov, Doctor of Sciences (Philology), Associate Professor, Professor at Kyiv National Linguistics University (Ukraine), Associate Professor at the University of Economics and Humanities in Warsaw (Poland), introduced the European approach to the adaptation of corpus technologies to students and the academic staff.

The lecture examined three indicators of the efficiency of corpus texts:

а) purposefully collected;

б) structured;

в) annotated.

The lecture also tried to test corpus resources in practice: British National Corpus (BNC), The open parallel corpus (OPUS), etc.
