The World Day for Cultural Diversity

In 2001, UNESCO adopted the Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity and in December 2002, the United Nations General Assembly declared May 21 to be the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.

The World Day for Cultural Diversity allows totally realizing the values of cultural diversity and achieving four goals of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions:

Support of sustainable management systems in the cultural sector.

Achievement of the equal flow of goods and services in the cultural industry and enhancement of specialist mobility in this area.

Integration of cultural elements into measures for reaching steady development goals.

Protection of rights and basic freedoms of people.

International European University as a multicultural community deeply respects and supports this idea. Our staff members, lecturers and students are representatives of different nationalities and different countries.

The adoption and recognition of cultural diversity encourages the development of the dialogue between civilizations and cultures, greater respect and mutual understanding.
