The International Scientific Conference on Post-War Development of Ukraine

The International Scientific Conference on Post-War Development of Ukraine: Challenges and Drivers of Recovery and Sustainable Economic Functioning in the Context of European Integration Processes took place on May 26 as part of the 1st International Scientific Forum: Science and Innovation: Modern Vector for the Development of Europe and the World.

The welcome speech was delivered by organizers and guests of the Forum: Alla Navolokina, President of International European University, Oleh Padalka, Acting rector of International European University, Maksym Zhytar, First vice-rector of International European University, Larysa Sidelnykova, Head of the Department of Finance, Accounting and Taxation of Kherson National Technical University, Larysa Hrytsenko, professor at the Department of Financial Technology and Entrepreneurship of Sumy State University, Doctor of Economics, professor, and Leokadiia Herasymenko, Chair of the Board of the Women’s Union of Ukraine, Ambassador of Peace.

A keynote moment of the Conference was the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between International European University represented by Alla Navolokina and the Women’s Union of Ukraine represented by Leokadiia Herasymenko.

The Conference was moderated by Yuliia Remyha, Iryna Boiarko, Nataliia Pryimak and Oleksandr Nesterenko.

Prominent scientists and experts from different countries spoke at the plenary session. They included:

• Bisogni Paolo, President of ELA, Doctor of Sciences (Mathematical, Physical & Natural Sciences), Professor, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano – Supply chain Resilience: lessons learned from the pandemic crisis and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict

• Oleksandra Tverezovska, a postgraduate student at Sumy State University – The impact of the Level of Financial Inclusion on Ukrainian`s Economic Growth and its Financial Security

• Nataliia Shvets, Doctor of Economics, professor, Vice-rector for educational and methodical work of the Private Higher Education Institution “Institute of Psychology and Entrepreneurship” – Circular economy as a prerequisite for green energy development

• Dana Mekhedova, an international expert in neuropsychology, Director of the Together to the World neurocorrection center, Head of the Department of the Development of Humanitarian Policy of the Women’s Union of Ukraine – Safe crisis communications of public institutions during the war

• Svitlana Smerichevska, Doctor of Economics, professor, professor at the Department of Logistics of the National Aviation University of Ukraine – Strategic transformations in global supply chain management, taking into account the current challenges

• Larysa Koliesnikova, a postgraduate student at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv – Financial consulting as a driver to stimulate the financial activity of the population for Ukraine’s recovery

• Inna Zelisko, Doctor of Economics, professor, academician at the Academy of Economic Science of Ukraine, State University of Telecommunications – Digital transformation of national telecommunication enterprises as an innovative driver of post-war national economic development.

The Conference consisted of three sections, discussing relevant issues of post-war development of Ukraine and sustainable economic growth in the context of European integration processes. Section 1 was dedicated to institutional reforms and EU experience to ensure the post-war revival of Ukraine. Section 2 examined financial, economic, organizational and managerial innovations of economic renewal in the context of post-war European integration processes. Section 3 focused on industry components of economic recovery and sustainable development mechanisms.

An impressive moment of the Conference was the presentation of startups by first-year software engineering students of the European Business School:

– FOODWISE Startup (team members: Andrii Savastiuk, Dariia Derkach, Dmytro Symonenko, Oleksandr Pakhaiev)

– Global LearnHub Startup (team members: Vladyslav Haiovyi, Denys Chesnishyi, Pavlo Mamu, Vladyslav Sydorenko).

The Conference allowed participants to share their experience, present their research findings and ideas, as well as strengthened the scientific and research community. Attendees discussed crucial issues related to the development of Ukraine in the context of European integration, found new solutions and jointly planned the ways of development to ensure sustainable economic functioning of the country.

This Scientific Conference played an important role in promoting knowledge, discussing topical problems, as well as finding ways of restoration and sustainable development of the Ukrainian economy. It stressed the importance of international cooperation and the exchange of ideas for success in the modern world.
